Description
Group of 10 small framed still life depictions of fruit, to include: watercolor theorem depicting apples on a branch; hand-colored engraving with aquatint depicting applies on a branch; set of 2 prints, one depicting a peach, the other a nectarine; set of 6 miniature hand-colored stipple engravings depicting melons and berries. All in period gilt wood frames with original gilding. Circa 1840. My favorite new acquisition, I love these, they are so charming and evocative, each on its own, and particularly as a group. And the frames really make them sing.
Largest frame: 9-1/4″ inches high x 6-5/8″ w; smallest frame: 3″ h x 2-5/8″ w
Minor losses to surface gilding throughout. One small frame has losses of gilding to both corners, see photos. Some staining and foxing. Overall very good antique condition.
